Here's what you've been asking...
Who is behind The GERI Project?
Originally The GERI Project was a collaboration between the Learning and Skills Councils and Connexions, and until November 2005 was part funded by the European Social Fund under the Equal Community Initiative Programme. Due to the success of the project GERI continued after funding ended. Headed up by Project Director John Flaherty, the originator of The GERI Project, the new operation continues to be committed to producing innovative resources promoting equality and diversity.
Who has developed the products?
The interactive products have been developed by our media partner Indigo Multimedia. All of the products in the GERI range are the result of a lengthy research and consultation process between GERI partners including LSC’s and Connexions, as well as teachers, guidance practitioners, young people and employers, all working together to ensure that our range of products is flexible, easy to use in a range of environments, comprehensive and gets results.
Have they been tested?
Yes. All of our products have been extensively tested every step of the development process.
Once complete our interactive products are subject to pilot tests during which they are tested amongst end users to generate feedback which can lead directly to improvements. Most recently the innovative e-learning environment – GERI ‘n’ GERI Encounter Humankind - was piloted at an equality and diversity conference taking place at British Airways Headquarters in Heathrow, London where the game was tested by local school children.
Who are the GERI products aimed at?
The flexibility of the products means they can be used in a variety of applications and with a host of users. From employers to young people, the products are aimed at raising awareness and encouraging discussion about equality and diversity issues.
